all original early 20th century antique american ornamental wrought brass interior residential chicago graystone building passage door backplate designed and fabricated by the reading hardware company, reading, pa. the "mura" pattern backplate was recently salvaged from a graystone residence constructed around 1904. the escutcheon has been refinished and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. several matching knobs and backplates available from this building salvage. backplate measures 2 x 8 inches.
