original 19th century american "putnam" pattern ornamental stamped brass interior residential sliding door backplate fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the wrought brass pocket door plate retains the original (and highly desirable) oxidized copper-plated finish. the recessed oblong "cup" handle contains no keyholes. measure approximately 7 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches. others available.
