original late 19th century american victorian era hand-forged wrought iron staircase panel designed and fabricated by the f.p. smith & iron works, chicago, il. nearly all of the 19th century chicago three-flats (undergoing demolition) contained stoops outfitted with decorative ironwork produced by the smith ironworks. the railing section features traditional scrollwork with circles and twisted and wavy flat bars. multiple layers of old black paint were applied over the years. multiple panels available. 41.5 X 21.5 X 1.5"
