all original and completely intact 19th century residential entrance door "brocade" pattern stop work mortise lock. the ornamental faceplate is comprised of bronze metal. the two button stops are generally used to make the exterior knob stationary, so accessibility from the outside requires a key. manufactured by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the lock box is comprised of cast iron with black enameled finish. measures approximately 6 1/2 x 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches.
