all original c. 1930's american vintage art deco machine age stationary four-legged side table or desk designed and fabricated by the simmons manufacturing co., kenosha, wi. the all-metal desk has been brushed down and treated with a clear coat finish. the turned and tapered steel legs are structurally sound and stable. the desk contains a single sliding drawer with original streamlined style bakelite handles with chrome accent. simmons was known for their all-metal furniture and bedding, designed especially for "hospitals, hotels, tourist cabins and steamships. salvaged from an old chicago hotel building. measures 34 x 19 x 30 inches.
