all original late 19th century golden oak wood freestanding double-door bookshelf cabinet with beveled edge glass and original ornamental hardware with matching skeleton cabinet key

restored late 19th century freestanding solid golden oak wood double hinged door bookshelf cabinet with intact beveled edge clear panes of glass. the interior residential bookshelf was likely fabricated by or for the chicago grille works, chicago, ills. the golden oak wood cabinet retains the original header with gesso ornamented corbels or brackets running from one side to the other. the ornamental cast brass escutcheon and fully functional lock are original with matching brass skeleton key. the cabinet was salvaged from a chicago residence built around 1896. the original adjustable shelves are in great overall condition.
