completely intact and fully functional early 1940's american vinte industrial art deco machine age "magni-ray" illuminated portable magnifier designed and fabricated by or for the geo m. scherrr comany, new york city, new york. the streamlined style magnifier retains the original black enameled finish applied to the weighted cast iron base and magnifier head. the freestanding workbench illuminated magnifier features a uniquely shaped cast iron weighted base with a centrally located threaded opening supporting a chrome plated solid steel arm or rod with original double friction joint intact. the magnifier can be adjusted to any desired height and angle. the super streamlined eyepiece is composed of reinforced aluminum with original optical glass lens intact. the underside of the magnifier contains two diminutive keyless incandescent light bub sockets fabricated by leviton. the heavily insulated cord with original in-line switch is original and in excellent working condition. measures approximately 11 x 13 inches.
