original antique american exterior multifaceted cast iron rain gutter collector box or leader head likely designed and fabricated by a. knisely & company, chicago, ills. the gutter box contains an intact drop outlet or downspout along the front and opposed integrated brackets for mounting. the collector box is free from damage. the 1870's oversized cast gutter box was salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition on chicago's west side. measures 9 x 9 1/2 x 6 1/2.
