four matching c. 1890's antique american "fleur-de-lis" pattern interior residential passage door backplates or escutcheons designed and fabricated by the mallory wheeler company, new haven, ct. the backplates plates are comprised of cast iron with wrought steel thimbles. original black enameled inlay and copper-plated finish somewhat intact (level of surface wear varies from one plate to the next). measure approximately 5 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches. priced for the lot of four.
