19th century american victorian-era ornamental cast brass banded rim doorknob with black enameled inlay

original 19th century cast brass interior residential passage size doorknob designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the antique american doorknob exhibits a striking design with centrally located floral rosette. a largely intact baked black enameled inlay provides added accent. mostly uniform surface patina throughout. the banded rim doorknob was discontinued around 1905. measures approximately 2 1/4 inches in diameter.
