victorian era american interior residential ornamental cast iron black enameled fireplace summer cover salvaged from a chicago italianate residence built around 1865-69. the rectangular-shaped cover features a unique centrally located pierced metal "screen" featuring diamond shapes surrounded by a border containing elegant floral motifs. the cover was fabricated by or for coronkhite & herren of chicago, il. measures 20 x 25 inches. matching covers available.
