single late 19th century highly sought after "ceylon" pattern interior residential passage door backplate salvaged from a chicago three-flat graystone undergoing demolition. the popular eastlake style hardware was designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin hardware co., new britain, ct. the rectangular-shaped backplate with intact thimble is comprised of wrought brass. several sets (in various configurations) were salvaged from this historic chicago residence. nicely aged surface patina left untouched. priced for the single plate.. each escutcheon measures approximately 1 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches.
