1880s hard to find victorian era american salvaged ornamental cast iron exterior chicago building facade endcap with a four-fold palmette design motif surrounding a centrally located diamond

hard to find original c. 1880's ornamental cast iron exterior three-flat mullion or pilaster endcaps possibly fabricated by the dearborn foundry company, chicago, il. the single-sided cast iron panel contains four deeply embossed anthemions or palmettes projecting from a centrally located diamond with raised button. the edges of the pilaster endcap are raised and rolled. the backside of the panel contains slightly raised edges and centrally located anchors for installation against the brick facade. this ornamented block contains a crack running through the center. the other is free from cracks or breaks. both endcaps have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. both cast iron square-shaped facade components were salvaged from a chicago three-flat brick combination commercial/residential victorian era building. priced individually. measures 13 x 12 x 3 inches.
