late 19th century american victorian era interior residential unique and unusual ornamental cast brass antique doorknob manufactured by the mallory wheeler co. (new haven, ct) around 1890-95. the banded edge brass doorknob features a central borromean ring motif with checkerboard crazy quilt and sun ray designs. the combined elements lend somewhat of a masonic look. mostly uniform surface patina with original black enameled inlay. measures approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
