very rare and original antique american 1830's strikingly crude dark olive amber open-pontiled utility bottle with applied collar discovered in a baltimore privy vault

exceptional and very rare c. 1830's open-pontiled crude privy dug dark olive amber utility bottle with applied collar. the body is unembossed, with curved, slightly concave panels on each side and edge that form a square to hexagonal shape. the high, curved shoulders are finished with a squat neck and intact applied ring, all of which feature desirable crudity and form a wide bore. a textural difference between the neck and shoulder evidence manufacture by dip mold. at the base is a glass-tipped pontil scar. maker or purpose is unknown. crudities are typical of its age and date of manufacture, and include stretch marks, allover bubbles, and asymmetry. the bottle also features surface wear and heavy irridization, as it was privy dug in baltimore, maryland. measures 18 1/4 x 24 1/2 x 38 inches.
