unusual double-jointed friction ring c. 1940's american industrial factory machine shop metal desk lamp with "pear" or slim helmet-shaped reflector

all original late 1940's american industrial articulating arm factory machine shop task lamp designed and fabricated by the fostoria pressed steel corp., fostoria, oh. the green painted industrial lamp contains distinctive ball and socket joints with friction rings used to secure the joints into the desired configuration. the rolled rim slim helmet or "pear" pressed and folded steel reflector or shade contains a reflective white underside. the base plate with original on/off toggle switch mounted flush against a workbench, table, etc. the original green paint finish remains in great overall condition, considering age. the "localite" has been manufactured by fostoria beginning around 1918 when the comoany was first established. measures approximately 34 inches long.
