partially intact c. 1930's antique industrial early time recorder or chronograph designed and fabricated by or for alexander wright & company, westminster, london. the portable early "stopwatch" was included in a large acquisition of several unusual and rare scientific instruments and mechanical devices. the collector claimed that this time recorder was used for athletic races in the 1936 summer olympics in berlin. no paperwork accompanied the time clock. the original black bakelite case was heavily damaged. what remains of the clock includes the white vitreous enameled dial or clock face with an opening to presumably wind the mechanical device. maker markings are prominently displayed in the center where the fanciful indicator arrow is located. the push button used to activate the clock, along the nickel-plated bronze bell and hammer remain intact. very unique "steampunk" mechanical device. measures 7 x 4 x 6 1/2 inches.
