all original and largely intact early 20th century american antique industrial factory office side chair designed and fabricated by the angle steel co., otsego, mi. the reinforced early "otseel" brand stationary stool or chair is comprised largely of angled iron with riveted and welded joints. the four-legged base contains angled stretchers or bracing and flared feet for added support and stability. the circular-shaped stool seat contains a wood inset surrounded by a heavy gauge ring fastened together with multiple bolts. the unusual backrest is made of folded and pressed cold-rolled sheet steel. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat finish. very distinctive in design and execution. seat height measures 18 inches.
