original c. 1880's american victorian era red slip glaze diminutive terra cotta block salvaged from the exterior facade of a chicago residence undergoing demolition. the ornamental baked red clay block features a highly stylized sunburst swirl design with sunken center. contains typical surface wear from prolonged exposure to the elements. possibly fabricated by the american terra cotta company, chicago, il. measures 7 1/2 x 8 x 4 1 1/2 inches.
