original turn of the century ornamental wrought bronze metal interior residential passage door backplates likely designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin company, new britain, ct. the two refinished backplates retain the original wrought bronze or brass collars tightly affixed to the backsides of the plates. the heavily ornamented backplates were salvaged from a chicago graystone facing demolition. each backplate has been refinished and slightly darkened with a stain treatment. priced for the pair. measures 7 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches.
