pair of all original salvaged 19th century chicago oversized cast iron freestanding residential stoop newel posts designed and fabricated by the dearborn foundry company, chicago, ills. the matching black enameled cast iron newel posts contain multiple holes for use with wrought tubular iron handrails. the distinctive pyramidal-shaped finials are free from cracks or breaks. the painted finish is largely uniform throughput. great overall condition. the late 19th century american victorian era newel posts were salvaged from a chicago cottage built around 1890. priced for the pair. 9 x 9 x 40 inches
