structurally sound and largely intact early 1940's american bowling alley neon letter sign with red paint finish

all original c. 1940's vintage american folded and pressed heavy gauge steel exterior neon letter sign salvaged from a far south side chicago bowling alley demolished long ago. the unique single-sided building facade letter contains a naturally aged old (possibly original) red paint finish with sporadic surface rust evident. the deeply raised edge letter remains structurally sound and intact, especially around the brazed seams. the american letter sign was fabricated by the adler sign letter co., chicago, il. a large variety of letters were salvaged from this old bowling alley (please see other listings). the circular opening(s) originally housed the glass insulators used with the neon tubing. the letter sign measures 24 inches in height. the width is 4 inches.
