original and intact antique c. early twentieth century hutchinson style blobtop aqua glass bottle manufactured for sterling springs bottling works in chicago, il. the hutchinson style bottle has a tall slim body with a squat neck and tapered down blobtop collar. the front body is embossed crisply inside an oval slug "sterling springs / bottling / works / chicago, ill.". on the reverse heel is the maker's mark "i.g. co. 433", indicating it was fabricated by the illinois glass company, in alton, il. seams evidence manufacture in a cup bottom mold. the base is smooth with numbers centrally embossed. crudities are typical of its age and date of manufacture. the bottle also features typical wear from having been dug, including haze, irridization and minor surface wear. measures 7 inches high.
