rare lightly cleaned original industrial early twentieth century medium-sized steam pressure gauge designed for the p. nacey company by jas. p. marsh in chicago, il. the circular gauge contains a nicely aged and well-preserved cast brass bevel with a sunken clear glass face protecting the instrument's face. crescent style indicator arrow measures the psi gauge from 0 to 250, and the face is printed with central text that include both company names, and "automatic sprinkler contractors & manufacturers / chicago, ill., u.s.a. / water" the backside of the two-part steam gauge is comprised of cast iron. the jas. p. marsh company was founded in 1865 in skokie, illinois. p. nacey co. was established in 1866 and contracted for plumbing, heating, gasfitting, and house drainage with offices at 319 wabash ave. the gauge is one of several salvaged from the 1871 crane mfg. company factory at 154-166 north jefferson street. measures 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches
