matching set of original and well-maintained highly desirable "la grande" pattern salvaged chicago entrance door bronze backplates manufactured by the reading hardware co., reading, pa. the ornamental doorknob plates feature very elaborate perforated scrollwork with fluted urn and bird head motif. the doorknob backplates are often found in conjunction with "columbian" pattern door hardware.
