original c. 1880's american eastlake style "broken leaf" pattern interior residential doorknob backplate or escutcheon. uniform brushed metal finish darkened with an oil-rubbed metallic bronze enamel. fabricated by the lockwood manufacturing co., south norwalk, conn. sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measure approximately 5 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches.
