rare 19th century antique american commercial store door thumblatch handle. comprised of cast bronze. manufactured by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britain, ct. the handle was likely fabricated around 1870-74.design patent in march of 1870. exceptional craftsmanship, both in execution of design and casting detail.
