very unique american industrial side table or work stand featuring a manually operated spring-loaded telescoping arm employing a rack and pinion mechanism controlled by an oversized faucet handle. the heavily reinforced three-legged "geneva table" slightly tapered pedestal base is comprised of cast iron with a uniform brushed metal finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the pedestal base was likely used as a mobile typewriter stand. exact fabricator unknown. the newly added beveled edge table top was fashioned from an old recycled walnut wood barn board. the two faucet handles are original and intact. the table moves up and down with ease. top measures 30 x 19 1/2 inches.
