unique early 1920's repurposed vintage american industrial surface-grinding machine pedestal table base with newly added old growth rough-sawn poplar wood tabletop. the closely spaced saw marks and sporadic knots and/or other imperfections add visual character. the heavy duty telescoping cast iron base contains a rack and pinion movement for height adjustment. the cast iron spoked faucet wheels are original and intact. the factory machine base was likely fabricated by the wilmarth & morman co., grand rapids, mi. top measures 50 x 22 inches and the height can be adjusted from approximately 31 to 41 inches.
