c, 1940's original and intact custom-built oversized tool or strongbox comprised of pressed and folded riveted joint steel with crude centrally located lockable hasp. the distinctive american "industrial folk art" tool chest was salvaged from a the machine shop within a factory specializing in the fabrication of parts for the aerospace industry. the chest contains a spacious interior that has been thoroughly cleaned and clear-coated. the exterior has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with lacquer. the machinist's chest was repurposed into a low-lying coffee table, with a custom built all-welded joint angled steel stand with flat stock steel feet. measures 38 x 16 x 18 inches.
