heavily reinforced c. 1930's antique american industrial freestanding factory machine shop grinding machine table base designed and fabricated by or for the gardner machine co., beloit, wi. the stationary base is comprised of heavy gauge angled steel brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the all-welded joint stretchers provide added support and stability. the l-shaped floor plates contain pre-drilled holes for anchoring securely against the floor. the newly added tabletop and undershelf are comprised of cedar wood with a uniform varnished finish. the original lightly incised brass plaque indicating department and inventory number remains intact. measures 14 1/2 x 14 1/2 x 33 1/2 inches.
