original c. 1940's american industrial brushed metal "localite" triple-joint task lamp designed and fabricated by the fostoria pressed steel corp., fostoria, oh. the pressed and formed steel articulating lamp contains a rolled rim slim helmet or "pear" reflector-shade with integrated socket house. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the original socket and wiring were removed long ago. the task lamp was originally mounted to a factory machine shop lathe. fostoria began producing the "localite" (in various configurations) beginning in 1918. the ball-and-socket joints are in good working condition. several variations available. socket and mounting plate not included. measures 30 inches, fully extended.
