19th century antique american industrial riveted wrought iron rim or surface mount lock box possibly manufactured by the nashua lock company, nashua, nh. the double cylinder deadbolt is utilized with a skeleton key from both the interior and exterior, and contains no turn-piece or knob hub. the flat front plate protrudes out wider than the lock itself, with a diminutive letter "s" stamped in the center, and contains a single square deadbolt. the lock box has three holes for mounting in the door. the refinished and/or brushed metal lock is held together with several rivets. the skeleton key hole is surrounded by a decorative integrated brass keyplate on either side. surface wear consistent with age and date of manufacture.
