hard to find cobalt blue glass iron pontiled soda or mineral water bottle manufactured for bottler george lomax, chicago, il. the body has a long tapered neck, sloping shoulders and applied blob top. the raised block lettering reading "g. lomax / chicago" are embossed in the center of the bottle within a debossed plate with rounded corners. the bottle features typical crudities including bubbles in the body and concentric tooling marks on the lip. the early chicago soda or mineral water bottle contains a base that is deeply rounded and features a pointed domed kick up with residue from the iron pontil.
