intact 19th century figural majolica fireplace tile designed and fabricated by the international tile of brooklyn, new york. the salvaged figural tile features a woman with curvaceous hair against a small six-pointed star. the dark olive green tile exhibits allover crazing consistent with age. mortar has been cleaned from the backside. displays well. the antique american figural fireplace tile was salvaged from a chicago mansion on prairie avenue during urban renewal.
