single hard to find 1840-1860 privy dug pontiled emerald green eight-sided bottle with blob top manufactured for william a. carpenter in hudson, n.y. the angular body has “wm. a. carpenter’s / mineral water” embossed vertically along sides of the glass, as well as “hudson, n.y.” on the reverse side. the base has a high kick up and residue from manufacture with an iron pontil. the bottle is finished with a somewhat crude applied blob that features slop and whittling, and has a couple minor chips at the lip edge. crudities typical of its age and date of manufacture include some discoloration and bubbles in the body. overall intact and in good condition.
