original 19th century american victorian era interior residential wood or coal-burning fireplace summer cover fabricated by or for henry dibblee & co., chicago, il. the highly ornate arch top grille is comprised of cast iron. the detachable inset was removed long ago. the black enameled finish over metal is mostly uniform throughout. measures 19 x 27 inches, opening measures 12 x 14 inches.
