set of original late 19th century antique american ornamental cast iron doorknob backplates designed and fabricated by the mallory wheeler co., new haven, ct. the interior residential passage door backplates contain a brushed metal finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. traces of the original copper-plated finish remains intact. each eastlake style plate exhibit a lightly incised geometric field pattern. priced for the pair of escutcheons. measure 5 1/4 x 1 5/8 inches.
