oversized original 19th century antique american quartered oak wood interior residential fireplace mantel with fluted columns

remarkable late 19th century varnished oak wood fireplace mantel salvaged from a chicago mansion located in the gold cost neighborhood. the late victorian era three-sided oversized mantel retains the original finish. the "tiger stripe" quartered oak wood mantel is accentuated with applique in recessed panels. each jamb or side features matching solid oak wood fluted columns with ionic columns. the mantel was executed by e.l. roberts & company, chicago, ills.
