extremely heavy duty antique american industrial machinist's workbench or work table salvaged from the old cook county hospital non-extant power building. the incredibly multi-purpose workbench contains a refinished rock hard solid maple wood top with centrally located recessed tray flanked by multiple "dog" holes for tool placement. the intact pull-out single drawer is comprised of pressed and folded steel. the remarkable cast iron legs with large pre-drilled floor plates have been thoroughly cleaned, refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. the table bases were designed and fabricated by the w.a. jones foundry & mach co., chicago, il. measures 35 x 36 x 52 inches.
