outstanding early 20th century vintage american industrial heavily reinforced cast iron three-drilled factory machine base with rotating segmented deck

robust early 20th century uniquely designed stationary cast iron factory machine base attributed to the rockford machine and shuttle co., rockford, il. the low-lying three-legged base was salvaged from an old steel mill and/or foundry located in the chicago area. the industrial machine base contains a revolving segmented platform or deck with pipe sleeves equipped with set screws in each corner. the deck rotates on a series of friction-reducing bearings sandwiched between the base and deck. the flared legs contain oversized ore-drilled holes for anchoring the base against the floor. the heavy duty american industrial base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures 16 x 12 x 23 1/2 inches.
