early 20th century american industrial four-legged adjustable height drafting stool originally distributed by the baker office furniture co., pittsbugh, pa. the draftsman stool was likely fabricated by the johnson chair company. the mixed wood chair has been refinished. the revolving seat is supported by a solid steel threaded spindle attached to the iron base with rotating faucet wheel. the outswept wood legs are reinforced with cross-bracing. the bent wood footrest is supported by angled wood brackets tightly affixed to each leg. exceptionally well-built. salvaged from a chicago area railroad depot.
