original antique american ornamental cast iron interior residential passage door backplate or escutcheon designed and fabricated by branford lock works, ct. the flush mount backplate contains a single skeleton keyhole, two screw holes and a fluted thimble. the brushed metal finish has been treated with a clear coat lacquer. measures approximately 5 1/4 x 1 5/8 inches.
