single oversized 19th century solid mahogany or birch wood interior residential recessed wall panel with centrally located hand-carved wreath and ribbons surrounded by an egg and dart frame or trimwork. the heavy wood panel was salvaged from a chicag gold coast mansion built around 1897. the panel retains the original varnished finish.
