one of several matching sets of original 1897-1900 original antique american interior residential passage door ornamental cast iron doorknobs designed and fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. co., stamford, ct. the "pasco" pattern doorknob exhibit a five-fold symmetry, with deeply embossed floral rosettes surrounding a centrally located floral motif. nearly half of the sets salvaged from the chicago two-flat contain a copper-plated finish. the banded rim doorknobs are in great overall condition, despite age and frequent handling. all of the doorknobs have been refinished and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. backplates or escutcheons and mortise locks were removed from the home as well. the asking price reflects the pair depicted in the listing. each knob measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter.
