all original and completely intact 19th century ornamental cast iron and bronze double-hung interior window sash lock likely manufactured by the sargent hardware co., stamford, ct. the unique "burglar-proof" window lock features a highly stylized base, arm and matching keeper. the elegantly turned steeple finials are made of cast bronze. this type of lock was typically used on the first floor windows of grand mansions or notable victorian cottages. refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. measures approximately 2 1/4 x 2 inches.
