c. 1900's antique american ornamental cast brass french renaissance style interior residential doorknob backplate likely fabricated by russell & erwin or p. & f. corbin. the deeply embossed passage door backplate contains a single keyhole opening, collar or thimble and four screw hole openings. nicely aged surface patina. measures approximately 8 1/2 x 2 3/8 inches.
