c. 1900-20 american ornamental cast iron monogrammed doorknob and matching backplate likely fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. co., stamford, ct. the office door hardware contains finely detailed neoclassical style design motifs. original bower-barff finish largely intact. surface wear evident. possibly from a university administration building. backplate measures 9 3/4 x 2 3/8 inches.
