original and intact early 20th century american ornamental cast iron freestanding barbershop garment or coat rack possibly manufactured by the emil j. paidar co., chicago, il. the elegant and curvaceous four-legged base is collapsible for easy transport. the rack contains four matching oversized double hooks affixed tightly against the tubular steel upright pole. the turned and tapered finial cap is original to the coat rack. thoroughly refinished and treated with a claer coat lacquer. measures 16 3/4 x 16 3/4 x 59 inches. an identical, albeit taller version is available.
