completely refinished highly sought after bare metal american made depression era industrial stationary vanity or lowboy designed and fabricated by the simmons mfg. co., kenosha, wisc. the low-lying dressing table contains a set of opposed modules consisting of two sliding drawers with the topmost drawers having recessed panels. the original unornamented steel knob pulls are intact and free from damage. the turned and tapered legs are both secure and stable. the unusual oversized centrally located arch top mirror retains the original mirrored glass inset. the flanking brackets are comprised of bent and folded yellow brass metal. the well-maintained simmons vanity has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. very few units left in stock. the vanities were salvaged from the private rooms of a south side chicago hospital. priced individually. measures 49 3/4 x 18 x 29 1/4 inches. with mirror height measures 62 3/4 inches.
